The campus sits at an altitude of 2,240 metres (7,280 feet), approximately 124 kilometres south of the equator, within the cool highlands of Kenya.

Due to its elevation, Brackenhurst enjoys a cooler climate than many visitors expect in Kenya.

Average daytime temperatures range between 18–25°C, with cooler evenings throughout the year.

  • January–March: Generally warm days with cool nights
  • April–May: Cooler with increased rainfall
  • June–September: The coolest months, often with morning cloud cover

Brackenhurst has an on-site health clinic open Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, and available for emergencies at all hours.

There is no known malaria risk at Brackenhurst due to the high altitude.
