John Mckelvey

Managing Director

John graduated from Kansas State University and completed an MBA from the University of London. After moving to Kenya in 1990, John has worked in twenty-three countries on the African continent. Currently, he is the managing director for Brackenhurst Kenya Limited. He also serves as the financial director for the holding company of ACTS, with offices in Limuru, Arusha, Harare, Cape Town and Mauritius.

Besides his role at Brackenhurst, John is a director for Woodland Star School, located on the Brackenhurst campus near Limuru. He has been deeply involved in biodiversity preservation and reforestation projects with Plants for Life International, also based on the Brackenhurst campus.

Jane Njuguna

Projects Manager

Jane was appointed to the current position after working in different capacities within the company. Her previous roles include overseeing special projects in finance and guest relations manager. She has a wealth of experience from across multiple organizations in the private sector.
Her passion and strengths are in client relations, leadership, organization, employee development, strategic analysis and implementation. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management.

Jackson Kilambya

Human Resource Manager

At Brackenhurst, Jackson has been the human resource manager since June 2008. Prior to joining Brackenhurst Conference & Training Center he worked at Kenya Reinsurance Corporation and Amazon Motors Ltd. He has over ten years experience in the field of human resources. Jackson enjoys what he does and the challenges that accompany it.

Jackson loves spending time with his family, traveling, and watching football.

Mbugua Robert Chege

Deputy Director of Operations

He holds a master’s degree in human rights law and an undergraduate degree in political science. Wawa approaches the operations at Brackenhurst with a critical eye,analyzing every step along the way.

Nairobi-born, Wawa has lived in the United States for 10 years and spent another five years working in Egypt and Haiti. He is now resides in Kenya again, bringing with him insight from working in the development and marketing industries.

Nelly Ndathi

IT Manager

Nelly has extensive hands-on experience in information technology, having been in the field for over ten years. Before joining Brackenhurst in 2006, she worked as an I.T. consultant at Diamond Systems Ltd, Your Computer Consultancy Ltd, and South Consulting Africa. Nelly acquired her training from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is also a Certified Cisco Network Associate.

At Brackenhurst, Nelly has directed the development of effective and professional I.T. system for guests and staff alike. She believes that it is always a pleasure to help guests with I.T. challenges.

Nelly loves traveling and singing.

Susan Maina

Finance Manager

Susan Maina is the Finance Manager of Brackenhurst. She oversees all of the company’s finance functions. She joined the company in 2015 as an Assistant Finance Manager at Brackenhurst.

Prior to Brackenhurst Kenya Limited, Miss Maina was Finance Manager at African Encounter Travel Limited & Encounter Camps Limited. While in this role, Miss Maina has been responsible for ensuring that the company runs effectively, strategic corporate transactions and leading the company’s corporate strategic and business planning efforts.

Susan Maina has ACCA, BBA in Finance and currently pursuing her Msc in Finance.
