Overview
Brackenhurst believes in having a positive influence and relationship with the local community and the country at large. From our longstanding work and impact in the environment, to spearheading local medical camps, to hosting community meetings, one of Brackenhurst’s key aims is to benefit and engage with the local and greater Kenyan community. Leveraging our resources and networks for the benefit of others is an important part of our vision.
Medical Camps
Working with volunteer medical teams from home and abroad, Brackenhurst has helped improve the health of thousands of people in the Karanjee settlement near Limuru. Through our relationship with these groups, Brackenhurst has been able to secure funds for follow-up treatment for persons whose condition warranted further attention. We are proud to have helped those whose economic situation prevented them from obtaining suitable medical care.
Global Ethos
Over seventy headmasters from local schools were recently hosted at Brackenhurst by Global Ethos. Brackenhurst donated the venue and meals for their meeting which was done in recognition and appreciation of headmasters. The meeting also included discussions on how to improve the Kenyan educational system.
Donations – Limuru Fund
Brackenhurst supports the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund in Limuru and other local initiatives. Donations of cash, food, employee time and expertise to other local projects have helped community programs reach their objectives.
Hosting Meetings
Brackenhurst has donated its grounds and conference facilities for local community groups. Some of these group initiatives include involvement in crime prevention, environmental restoration and preservation, recycling, youth empowerment, and sustainable farming.
