• Signature Brackenhurst draperies • Tile floors to match • Full length closet mirrors • Modern bath and vanity
Empowering our community
Brackenhurst is very proud to be associated with Global Ethos, an establishment recognizing the efforts and achievements of teachers. We recently hosted a luncheon for the group on April 6th 2011 with the aim of recognizing the efforts that various school heads are making towards raising the education standards within Kiambu district. Among other tasks, Global ethos strives to build and strengthen teacher’s capacities and support them to participate at their highest potential as they go about their day to day work.
Environmental Milestones
Brackenhurst has recently placed several policies in place that are geared towards better environmental management. We have felled exotic trees that initially covered a huge chunk of our upper forest and are currently replacing those with Indigenous trees. Our aim is to introduce Indigenous trees to the neighboring homesteads and schools in our bid to increase foliage and to also conserve our flaura and Fauna. Brackenhurst hopes to achieve more milestones in coming years to this regard.
Encounter Mara
Brackenhurst Conference Center is proud to be associated with ENCOUNTER MARA, an exclusive, luxury, eco-friendly tented safari camp in the world-famous Masai Mara.
Situated in the private Mara Naboisho Conservancy, the camp’s extraordinary riverside location with stunning views provides exclusive and unrivaled game viewing opportunities without the hordes of vehicles accustomed to other areas of the Masai Mara. The valley in which the camp is located boasts impressive densities of game in its immediate surroundings, including the big cats and the annual great wildebeest migration the Masai Mara is renowned for. Day and night game drives, walking safaris, guided star-gazing and cultural encounters fill guests’ days with an enchanting rhythm that is never rushed or superficial and is always open to special requests or unique interests.
The conservancy itself, officially launched in December 2010, is an inspiring model of community-centred and sustainable conservation, providing direct benefit to local Masai communities.
Each of the camp’s 12 twelve en-suite guest tents is custom-designed and spacious, with its own private veranda positioned to optimize game viewing. The lounge and dining tents with reading areas and rustic lounge chairs serve as a central meeting area and provide additional space for relaxation between activities and meals. After dark, guests are escorted along lit paths by trained guards (askaris) due to the possibility of wild animals passing through camp.
What sets Encounter Mara apart?
